Welcome to the Newest Civil Air Patrol
Squadron in Pennsylvania's Group One.
Washington Composite Squadron 601
 
Meeting time: Every Wednesday night from 7:PM to 9:PM.
 
Place: The home of the 28th brigade of the PA National Guard.
125 Goodridge Road, Washington Pa.
Right next to the Washington County Airport.

The CIVIL AIR PATROL is the United States Air Force Auxiliary and
provides services to America through the Air Force, Fema, Pema,
and in support of many Emergencey Service's including The Red Cross,
National Guard, Air Force and Army Reserves, The ROTC program,
and many school programs.
 
Civil Air Patrol performs 85% to 90% of the inland search and rescue
missions for the U.S. Air Force. Saving about 50 to 100 persons a year
in 50 states and 2 territories.
 
Since Sept 11, 2001, CAP has been incorporated into the homeland security
plans for the safety of the homeland.
 
If you ever wanted to help your country in
a time of need, NOW IS THAT TIME.
 
If you can not volunteer but want to help. You may donate to the squadron by making cash donations to "The CIVIL AIR PATROL Squadron 601" and send them to Squadron 601, 6 Mill Spring Lane, Washington, PA. 15301.
All donations are tax deductable.
Your donations will be used for needed equipment, training materials and community education. 
The Cadet Program accepts Teens from 12 to 18
(11 if in the 6th grade) and Seniors from 18 to as old as you feel you can contribute.
 
Each cadet qualifies for flight time in our search planes through the Air Force Oreintation flights
 
As a cadet a member can learn Aerospace education, including model rocketry and work for valuable scholorships.
 
A cadet who achieves the Billy Mitchell Award is eligible for an up graded rank upon joining the Air Force or Army.

FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FTX)
    A summer FTX at Mingo State Park.
Senior members teach search and rescue techniques to cadets, on a camping weekend. Many classes are conducted outdoors and in the field.
